Monday, May 27th is Memorial Day

Memorial Day, which falls on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while serving in the American military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, at least, it marks the beginning of summer.

Explorer Cookout a Success!

Grill

PLEA would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who attended the Benefit Cookout for Phoenix Police Explorer Post 2906 at the PLEA Garage Grill on October 12, 2011.  Because of your generosity, we collected a total of three thousand dollars, which will go directly to the Explorers!  Our Explorers did an excellent job of setting up tables, cooking, tearing down, and cleaning up during and after the event.  Once again, we express a hearty "Thank you" to everyone who either dropped in and ate here, or grabbed a to-go box.  This would not have been possible without your participation.
